Sight of Nerima

This is a Ranma 1/2 fanfic by Stanlee

how much I would like it... Well let's get it on...

It was a late afternoon in Nerima. A red-haired girl was walking slowly along the street heading 
to the Tendo Dojo... Several bruises and parts of the torn kimono indicated a recent fight...
"That idiot Ryouga." Ran-chan fough for himself. "I got an edge on him today, but this time it was really close."
"I don't get it, how he could have gotten so much better." He mumbled for himself. "I could beat him
blindfolded two weeks ago, but today it was different... Ryouga was different..."
He thought about HIRIYOU SHOTEN, that he used against Ryouga... He could see Ryouga's rage and he was about
to use it against him... But when he was finishing the spiral and ready to launch the attack, Ryouga's
aura became cold as ice and the attack only hit the air... While Ranma was recovering from the failed
attack, Ryouga hit him with two hard punches and almost knocked the air out of him... If they wouldn't
fall into the pool after that, it could be much worse.

He arrived at the gate of the dojo and opend it with a sigh. Ranma could see everybody was in the house
and he could sense the smell of food from the kitchen. Kasumi must be preparing the supper. The thought
of food cheered Ranma up as he entered the house. Nabiki was going down the stairs and when she saw
Ranma her eyes narrowed a bit.
"Let me guess, Ryouga?" Nabiki tilted her head a bit.
"Hmm.." Ranma continued to head upstairs, he really didn't want to explain anything to Nabiki right now.
"Seems he really hurt you this time." Nabiki grinned.
"He got lucky." Frowned Ranma and disappeared in the bathroom.
Akane, who heard some voices in the hall, came out of the kitchen.
"Ranma?" She asked.
"If you want something from him, he's in the bathroom." Said Nabiki with a smirk on her face and went into the kitchen.
"Supper is ready!" Kasumi's voice echoed through the house and there was a sound of two pairs of feet as Soun and Genma
hurried to the table.

Ranma joined them as soon as he changed back. Fully concentrating on the food he ignored his father
and Mr.Tendo, who were talking about the wedding and other things as usual. Suddenly Akane turned to Ranma
"This came for you today." She said and took a envelope out of the pocket.
"Hmm? another challenge?" Ranma didn't even try to take his eyes away from the bowl.
"Mhm.. I think it's from Ryouga.." Akane was interested studying the signature on the envelope..
"What?" Ranma's surprise was apparent, because he stopped eating and stared at the envelope.
"Ranma Saotome, I Ryouga Hibiki..... bla bla bla... challenge tommorow 16:00 in the forrest behind
the school." Ranma was reading aloud... "What, another duel? What's that guy thinking?" Said Ranma
for himself, holding the letter in one hand and a bowl of rice in the other.
"What do you mean, another?" Asked Akane, half-interested.
"Ranma had a fight with Ryouga today." Explained Nabiki.
"This isn't his style. When I defeat him, he always disappears for a month and now two challenges?"
Ranma was thinking aloud.
Suddenly a small black piglet with a bandana around its neck appeared in the doorway. It carefully
looked around and then slowly creeped to the stairway and the bathroom. But it didn't escape Akane's
carefull look.
"P-chan!" She shouted happily and jumped from behind the table.
The piglet froze in its track and Akane picked it up. "Where were you P-chan? I was so worried."
"P-chan?" Ranma was watching the piglet as Akane sat down hugging it in her arms.
"I'll borrow P-chan for a while, Akane. I need to ask it a few things." Ranma grabed the struggling
mini-pig by the ears and ran up the stairs.
"Ranmaaa!! No Baka. You know exactly that pigs can't talk." Holding a humongous mallet Akane ran after him. 

After a couple of minutes Ranma managed to loose her by jumping over a couple of roofs. After
he made sure, that Akane is nowhere around, he dropped P-chan on the roof and sat next to it.
"Now listen here, Ryouga, what is this challenge supposed to mean?" Ranma only watched a surprised
look on the piglets face.
"Don't play dumb with me, Ryouga, I got the letter." Ranma took out the envelope and waved it in front
of P-chan's snout.
P-chan was looking at the envelope for a while and only moved his head in disagreement.
"You want to say, this letter isn't from you?" Ranma was surprised.
P-chan only noded, bit Ranma's finger and while Ranma was cursing that goddamned pig, dissapeared into
the night. In the same moment a black siluette hiding on the next roof silently jumped down into the
shadows.

On the next morning was Ranma greeted by the Baka hammer... Explanation that P-chan ran away obviously
didn't suffice to Akane, so he was running the whole way to school. She only managed to hit him once, 
though, when a white duck with glasses made him trip and Ranma was sent flying above the rooftops.
The landing wasn't that bad, maybe only Kuno didn't find it so great.
The school was as usual. The dean wanted to cut of Ranma's pigtail, during the PE two groups of girls
athletic club tried to catch Happosai, with no luck as usual. Tatewaki and Kodachi were whispering something
between themselves and looking at Ranma, but he tried to ignore them. After two lunches, brought by Ucchan and
Shampoo, and after the fight that arised from it happened nothing unusual, so right after the school
Ranma made his way to the forest behind the school.

"If Ryouga didn't write that letter, then who did? And why did he sign it as Ryouga?" Ranma was pondering
while he was leaning against one of the trees.
Suddenly appeared Tatewaki Kuno, holding his sword in one hand and a bunch of roses in his other 
hand.. He was walking toward Ranma with his eyes closed and stopped a couple of steps in front
of Ranma. 
"Saotome you demon, I accept your challenge. I will fight ye, and free the pig-tailed goddess from
under your spell." Kuno spoke enhusiasticly and prepared his sword.
"What are you talking about, Kuno, I didn't challenge you.." Ranma was backing off, away from Kuno's sword.
"No more lies, Saotome. The Blue Thunder shall defeat you today." And with that Kuno launched his attack.

Meanwhile elsewhere..

Ryouga was walking down a street, one hand on the wall and looking at a map of Nerima...
"According to this map... The house of the Tendos should be right... here..." He stopped and looked
around. 
"I can't believe it." Ryouga was on the verge of tears.. He was standing in front of the Tendo Dojo 
gate...
"I found it, this really must be a sign.." He wiped his eyes, put the map in his backpack and entered
the gate.
In the yard he saw Kasumi with a basket in her hands.
"Uh..Hi Kasumi." He said with a little bit of nervousness in his voice.
"Oh, hello Ryouga. What a pleasent surprise." Kasumi said with a smile, that she was probably
born with. "What brings you here?" 
"I was wondering.. is Akane home yet?" Ryouga was a little bit more confident.
"Yes, I think she just came back from school. Now please excuse me, I'll have to do some shopping."
Kasumi smiled at Ryouga and walked out of the gate.
Right then Akane appeared in the front door. Ryouga's heart started thumping like crazy and his 
face became beet red, but Akane didn't seem to notice.
"Hi there, Ryouga. How did the match go?" She smiled at Ryouga.
"Er.. it was all right. You see we fell into the pool.." Ryouga suddenly stopped, he almost said
that he changed into P-chan. "..and we cooled off. Haha." He laughed with his hand behind his head.
"So where's Ranma?" Asked Akane curiously..
"I don't know, I guess he is training somewhere. I gave him a hard time yesterday." Said Ryouga innocently. 
"Akane.. I wanted to ask you... don't you want to... go out?" Continued Ryouga, his heart thumping 
so fast, he was awaiting that it's going to explode.
"Well, OK. Today is a wonderful day, so I guess it's better than staying at home and waiting for 
that Baka Ranma." Akane's adrenaline rised a little as she remembered the morning.

Ranma was gasping for air, with his arm outstretched upwards. He just sent the Blue Thunder of
Furinkan high back into the sky. Slowly he stretched himself and started thinking why would Kuno challenge
him and sign the challenge as Ryouga. He didn't have time to think for a minute, when a chain wrapped
around his arm. On a branch of a near tree was a man in a white kimono and with glasses.
"What the.. Mousse?" Ranma was looking at him with a surprise in his eyes. He was ambushed
by Mousse many times, but the master of hidden weapons still could surprise him.
"Yes, it's me Saotome. Shampoo is as good as mine." With that Mousse jumped back to the ground holding
the chain with both hands. The chain wrapped around the branch jerked. Ranma lost his balance and was 
pulled forward. The next thing he saw, was Mousse doing a flip kick and hitting him in the jaw. 

Akane and Ryouga were walking along the water channel. The sun was pleasantly warm. 
"So where did you go last time you left Tokyo, Ryouga?" Asked Akane. She always liked storys about
Ryouga's journeys.
"Well I really don't know, the people ther were dressed kinda funny. And they ate long, thin breads."
Ryouga tried to recall the name of the place. "And their language was so weird.. I think they called
it French." 
"French? Really? I heard that French is the language of love.. but wait." Akane jibbed. "Isn't France across 
the ocean?"
"I guess it is. I did ride on a ship twice." Answered Ryouga looking into the sun.
"It must be really exciting to travel that much." Said Akane with a dreamy look in her eyes.
"Not as exciting as you may think." Ryouga recalled, when he had to sleep in a forest for two days 
and it was raining. "But I always look forward to coming back to Nerima." He said with a smile.
"You mean to challenge Ranma?" Akane said with a strange look on her face.
"No.. I'm not coming back because of Ranma...I...I..Akane...Why don't we go to the amusement park?"
He laughed again.
"Yes, that's a great idea." Akane agreed and they started heading towards the amusement park.
Or more exactly, Akane started heading there and Ryouga followed, silently cursing to himself, that
he still can't say what he wants to say so much.

Mousse and Ranma were both sitting ducks. Together chained with both hands to the big bomb Mousse pulled 
out of his sleeve. 
"Mousse do something, can't you disarm it?" Ranma was really getting worried.
"Sorry, but my both hands are tied right now." Mousse tried to pull out his hand with no luck.
"D-Don't you have the keys?" Ranma was beginning to panic.
"Yes I do, but you see, it's in the back part of my kimono." Said Mousse in thoughts.
Suddenly Ranma got an idea. "Mousse do you have some water?" 
"I should have it somewhere, why?" Mousse asked and almost immediately begun to understand.
"If I can change into a girl, I might be able to pull my hands free. Now hurry." Ranma was watching the
timer of the bomb with fear..
"Wait....wait..I got it." A small tube appeared out of Mousses sleeve and water started pouring out.
Ranma quickly bent his leg and put it under the water. Now, with some effort he was able to pull out 
his small hands. 
"Now find the key. Quickly!" Mousse was trying to keep his cool, but seeing the timer
on 15 seconds really didn't help it. 
"Where is it? I can't find it." Ranma was fishing for the key, under Mousses kimono. 
"No, more to the right, further...even further..no, don't push that!!" 
Suddenly something clicked. "Saotome, you did that on purpose!" Mousse screamed and with that, his Jetpack 
lifted him off along with the bomb into the sky. A loud explosion then sent him flying over the trees.
Ranma was sitting on the ground a little bit toasted. 
Suddenly a strange laughter filled the forrest and gave Ranma goosebumps. It was the laugh of 
nobody else but Kodachi Kuno. 

"Do you want some icecream Akane?" 
"Yes, thank you Ryouga." Said Akane and they both walked to the icestand. Ryouga couldn't believe it.
This has been the most beautiful day in his life. He felt wonderful with Akane, she understood him
like no one else did and today Ranma wasn't here to shatter their good time together. He thought
back when they went to ride the big wheel. Akane was a bit afraid of the hight, bu he just said "Don't
worry, Akane. We'll be all right." Then he held her hand so that she would feel safe. Now they were walking
hand in hand up a hill, eating their icecream. They stopped at the top and admired the view on the
sunlight flooded Nerima. After a moment Ryouga looked at Akane. She was beautiful. He finally felt 
the courage to tell her the one thing he wanted to say. He started. "A-Ak.a.." but he was stopped
when Akane leaned herself against his shoulder. She was looking so happy. Then she turned her head towards him
and he found himself unable to say a word. They only looked at each other and finally their lips moved closer.

Ranma was in a rage.. He was running up the street and was heading to the hill next to the amusement park.
He could already see two silhouettes on the top and he started running up the hill. Suddenly a black 
figure jumped from the green bushes on the side of the path. It was a male, dressed in a black ninja outfit.
He stopped in front of Ranma and assumed a battle stance. 
"You.. who the hell are you?" Ranma stopped and also assumed a battle position.
"I am the guardian." The black stranger answered shortly.
"I know you... I saw you on the roofs last night.. and in the forest today, you were watching me."
Said Ranma with anger in his voice. "What do you want from me?"
"I can't allow you to pass." Answered the stranger.
"So you are the one who arranged the fake challenges?" Asked Ranma clenching his teeth.
Ranma suddenly saw a slight movement in the bushes. He looked that way and was surprised to see.. 
"Nabiki!?"
"Oh, hi Ranma." Nabiki waved her hand towards him with a smile.
"No I didn't." The black stranger answered Ranma's question, "I had to hire some assistance."
Nabiki came to the dark stranger and tapped him on his shoulder. "That'll be 10000 Yen. S." 
She said with a smile.
"Right Nabiki, thanks for your help." He took an envelope out of a pocket and handed it to Nabiki.
"Pleasure doing business with you. S." Nabiki took the envelope and counted the money.
Ranma was standing there with his mouth open. "What the..", he mumbled, "Who the hell is that 
guy, Nabiki."
"Oh I didn't introduce myself." The black dressed man took off his ninja mask with one quick move. 
"I am the author, the guardian of this fic."
"Why have you been doing all this?" Ranma demanded.
"If you take a look at the top of the hill, you'll see the answer why." Stanlee pointed up.
In the same second, on the top off the hill, oblivious to anything except themselves, Akane's and 
Ryouga's lips gently touched.
